For Express Entry & PR applicants

French from zero
to NCLC 7.

A plan, not a pile of practice tests. Tell it your exam date. It measures where you stand in all four skills, tells you the two or three things to do today, and says plainly whether you are ready to book. Full timed TCF Canada and TEF Canada mocks, with model answers for every written and spoken task.

Works on your phone, tablet or computer. A card is needed to start the trial — nothing is charged for 3 days. Every plan starts with 3 days free. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing.

Why French is worth the effort

Under Express Entry, French ability is scored through the Canadian Language Benchmarks (NCLC in French). Reaching NCLC 7 across all four abilities unlocks additional points, and Canada has run category-based draws for French-language proficiency with noticeably lower score cut-offs than general draws.

Points, categories and cut-offs change. Always confirm the current rules on the official IRCC website before you book a test — this course prepares you for the exam, it does not give immigration advice.

What you practise

All four skills, both exam formats, one place

The exam scores listening, reading, writing and speaking separately, and your weakest one decides your result. So all four are here.

🎧

Listening

The complete 40-question TEF and 39-question TCF papers, timed, with each recording played once — as the real exam does. Five complete papers for each exam, so a second sitting still measures you. Plus a practice mode with transcripts, replays and an explanation for every answer.

📄

Reading

The full 40-question TEF and 39-question TCF papers, timed at 60 minutes — classified ads, notices, admin letters and long articles. The text stays on screen and you can move back, because skim-then-scan is the strategy that earns marks. Five complete papers each, plus short 20-minute sets for a weeknight.

✍️

Writing

Every task type: TEF Section A and B, TCF Tâches 1 to 3. Live word count against the official ranges, a marking checklist built from the published criteria, and a full model answer for each task.

🗣️

Speaking

Record yourself against the published preparation and response timers, listen back, and mark yourself on the same five criteria an examiner uses. Model responses show the structure that scores.

Why it works

What makes it different

  • Real exam timing, not a quiz. One play per recording, the clock running, results only at the end.
  • Both exams in one place. Switch between TCF Canada and TEF Canada — the format, timings and section names change with you.
  • You find out where you are losing points. Accuracy is tracked by section, so you stop practising what you are already good at.
  • Spaced repetition on vocabulary and grammar. 370 items across the themes that actually come up: work, housing, health, environment, education, immigration.
  • It works offline once loaded. Your scores follow you between devices; your recordings and written answers never leave the device you made them on.
Before you ask

Questions

Is this the official TCF or TEF exam?

No. This is independent preparation material modelled on the published formats. It is not affiliated with France Éducation international, the CCI Paris Île-de-France, or IRCC. You still book your real test through an approved test centre.

Which exam should I take, TCF or TEF?

Both are accepted for Express Entry. TEF Canada listening is 40 questions in 40 minutes with four sections; TCF Canada is 39 independent questions in 35 minutes that get harder as you go. Try both in the app and see which format suits how you listen.

Do I need a microphone?

Only for the speaking module, and only if you want to record and listen back — which is the whole point. Any phone or laptop microphone is fine. Recordings stay on your device and are never uploaded.

Will this guarantee me NCLC 7?

No, and be wary of anyone who promises that. What it gives you is the real format, honest timing, model answers to compare against, and a record of where you are weakest. The work is still yours to do.

Do I pay straight away?

No. Every plan starts with a 3-day free trial. You enter your card to begin, nothing is taken during the trial, and on day 3 your card is charged for the plan you chose. Cancel before then, in one click, and you pay nothing at all. The course counts down to the charge date at the top of every page.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time from your account page. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
